Author-nticity: Write your own story
Being, in its very self, is an epic phenomenon. One should truly learn to embrace every part and portion of who they are and learn to celebrate every inch of all that defines them and sets them apart from others in terms of being an individual.
Authenticity is soon becoming a myth as times change and humans begin to buy into a culture of insatiability and society continues to mould itself into cultivators of needy materialistic zombies.
We buy everything from image to thought and consciousness. We have allowed ourselves to be part of an army that strives from homogeneity and have moved towards the shunning of originality and the natural process of honest and genuine expression.
We have become the tailors of our own identity’s disappearance and the collaborators in the assassination of the creative individual. Moods, attitudes, thoughts and actions are being welded into a mix of the same thing resulting in an environment where creativity will only succeed in achieving second rating to tried and tested formulaic thinking.
Let us not get ourselves stuck in a world where we become the very consumers of our very own identity for the gain of somebody else’s ego or wallet. A darker twist to getting your ass handed to you.
It is important that you are the centre of your own creativity. It stems from your unique perceptions of the space you share with your fellow cohabitants.
What is left for every individual to do is to It make the decision to let go of definitions that seem to serve only as a hindrance and act on the ones that push you deeper into the realms of creation and innovation without fear of rejection but rather, a sincere willingness to accept that
“YOUR EXPRESSION IS YOUR ART AND YOUR ART IS YOUR TRUTH“.
And the same for your fellow man.
We can draw inspiration from each other but we need not become replications of our muse.
